Rotate metal twist at bottom of battery door counterclockwise

Replace end cap and screw together

Is the scanner powering on with the new battery?

Describe any issues encountered during replacement

Turn the power to the host system OFF

Disconnect the base’s cable from the terminal or computer

Pull the connector out while maintaining pressure on the connector release clip

Insert the connector into the opening and press firmly

Ensure the connector is keyed to go in only one way and will click into place

Check that all the parts are in place

Test the connection with the new cable

Gather a soft cloth and water or a mild detergent-water solution

Ensure the scanner is not submerged in cleaning solution

Clean the scanner housing with a dampened soft cloth

Clean the scanner window with a dampened soft cloth

If detergent was used, wipe the scanner with a clean cloth dampened only with water

Ensure all components are dry before mating with charging accessories or other devices

Turn off the power to the host system

Disconnect the scanner’s cable from the terminal or computer

Locate the small screw at the bottom of the locking plate

Loosen the locking plate and slide it over the base of the cable connector to remove the cable from the device

Remove the O-ring from the end of the cable connection

Order replacement cables from Honeywell or an authorized distributor

Specify the cable part number of the original interface cable when ordering

Ensure the scanner is powered off before starting the replacement

Remove the screw and locking plate from the existing cable connector

Detach the 10-pin modular connector from the scanner

Attach the new 10-pin modular connector to the scanner

Secure the connector with the screw and locking plate
