Cables In Corded Scanners Replacement
Preparation
Order replacement cables from Honeywell or an authorized distributor
Specify the cable part number of the original interface cable when ordering
Cable Replacement
Ensure the scanner is powered off before starting the replacement
Remove the screw and locking plate from the 10-pin modular connector
Detach the old interface cable from the scanner
Attach the new interface cable to the scanner
Secure the connector with the screw and locking plate
Interface Cable Replacement
Power Down
Turn off the power to the host system
Disconnect Old Cable
Disconnect the scanner’s cable from the terminal or computer
Remove Old Cable
Locate the small screw at the bottom of the locking plate
Loosen the screw
Loosen the locking plate and slide it over the base of the cable connector to remove the cable from the device
Remove the O-ring from the end of the cable connection
Base Interface Cable Replacement
Turn the power to the host system OFF
Disconnect the base’s cable from the terminal or computer
Turn the base upside down
Pull the connector out while maintaining pressure on the connector release clip
Replace with the new cable
Insert the connector into the opening and press firmly
Ensure the connector is keyed to go in only one way and clicks into place
Check that all tools and old cables are removed from the work area
Turn the power to the host system ON
Scanner Cleaning
Preparation
Gather a soft cloth and mild detergent-water solution
Ensure the scanner is powered off and disconnected from any charging accessories or peripheral devices
Cleaning Process
Dampen the soft cloth with water or mild detergent-water solution
Wipe the scanner or base housing with the dampened cloth
Wipe the scanner window with the dampened cloth
If detergent was used, wipe the scanner or base with a clean cloth dampened only with water to remove detergent residue

Rotate metal twist at bottom of battery door counterclockwise
Remove battery
Battery Insertion
Insert replacement battery
Replace end cap and screw together
