Main Spindle Coolant Catcher Cleaning
Release the two latches and remove access cover
Wipe out any coolant and chips
Wash the coolant catcher with a cleaner recommended by the coolant manufacturer
Install the access cover
Sign off on the cleaning procedure
Coolant Tank Cleaning
Verify the machine is powered down
Wait a sufficient amount of time to allow the coolant to drain into the tank
At the right end of the machine, remove access cover
Release the locking handles and disconnect coolant hose coupling
If the coolant tank is equipped with a coolant level sensor, disconnect cable from the receptacle on the coolant tank
Release coolant tank clamp
Release two latches and remove left end skirt
Release coolant tank clamp
Move the tank from under the machine
Spindle Cleaning
Access cover removed from the left end of the machine
Plug(s) removed from the end of the spindle draw tube(s) if present
Six draw tube screws completely loosened
Draw tube nut rotated counterclockwise to disengage the draw tube from the work-holding device
Work-holding device(s) removed from the spindle(s)
Sub-spindle covered to protect it from chips while the main spindle is being cleaned if the machine is equipped with the optional sub-spindle
Main coolant guard door closed
Chips and coolant blown out of the main spindle using an air line from the left end of the machine
Main spindle covered to protect it from chips while the sub-spindle is being cleaned if the machine is equipped with the optional sub-spindle
Air Filter Bowl Cleaning
Power down the machine
Turn the air supply to the machine OFF
Lift the filter bowl sleeve and turn it counterclockwise about one eighth of a turn to release it from the filter head. Do not use excessive force to remove a filter bowl
Pour out contaminants that are present in the filter bowls
Wipe the bowls clean with a lint-free cloth and change the filter if necessary
Mount the bowl by aligning the bowl and sleeve on the head and turning it clockwise about one eighth of a turn to tighten it in place. Pull down on the sleeve to confirm that the bowl is in place
Grasp the sleeve and pull down to verify that the bowl is secure
Turn the air supply to the machine ON
Power up the machine
Coolant Filter Cleaning
Verify the machine is powered down
Open rear access doors
Wipe filter head and filter housing, clean with a lint-free cloth
Remove the nut on the top of the filter unit to release the filter housing from the filter head
Remove the filter element from the filter body
Allow the coolant in the filter element to drain into the filter housing
Properly dispose of the coolant in the filter housing
Clean the filter element and the inside of the filter housing
Install the filter element in the filter body
