Are grease fittings provided on the motor?

Is the motor a fractional horsepower motor that is permanently lubricated?

Is the motor temperature below 104°F (40°C)?

Follow manufacturer's recommendations for greasing if applicable.

Replace grease after 2,000 hours of running time if applicable.

Ensure no excess grease is left on the motor exterior.

Inspect belt alignment and tension

Adjust and tighten belt as necessary

Inspection of Bolts and Setscrews

Inspect the following components for tightness

Adjust and tighten components as necessary

Disconnect, lock, and tag power source before servicing

Ensure unit is non-functional when cleaning the wheel or housing (fuses removed, disconnect locked off)

Clean exterior surfaces of the motor

Remove dust buildup on motor housing

Check all fasteners for tightness

Is the motor housing free of dust buildup?

Belt Inspection and Replacement

Check belts for wear and tightness

Are matched belts used on units with multi-groove pulleys?

Loosen the tensioning device for belt removal

Were belts removed without forcing them?

Adjust belts as shown in 'Pre-Start-Up Checks'

Bearing Inspection and Lubrication

Select the type of shaft bearings

Are special bearings installed for hot, humid, or dirty locations?
