Remove wear ring if excessively worn

Is the wear ring being replaced?

Ensure no lubricants are used on the metal-to-metal fit when pressing in the replacement

Check the tightness of all hold-down bolts before checking the alignment.

Move the motor if re-alignment is necessary.

Final alignment achieved when requirements are met with both pump and motor hold down bolts tight.

Recheck both alignments after making adjustments.

Enter Total Indicator Reading for parallel alignment.

Enter Total Indicator Reading for angular alignment.

Drain system and flush if necessary

Remove motor hold-down bolts or disconnect coupling and remove spacer

Remove casing bolts and pump hold-down bolts

Remove motor and rotating element from casing

Unscrew impeller bolt with a socket wrench

Pry off impeller using two pry bars

Ensure all mechanical seal components are in good condition

Install the mechanical seal stationary seat in the seal housing using soapy water as a lubricant

Install the mechanical seal spring retainer, spring, and rotary assembly on the shaft sleeve using soapy water to lubricate

Slide the shaft sleeve over the pump shaft ensuring a new shaft sleeve o-ring is used

Verify the correct o-ring is used for the shaft sleeve and impeller washer

Install the mechanical seal spring and rotary on the shaft sleeve using soapy water to lubricate

Disconnect and lockout electrical power

Verify bearing location and type

Refer to manufacturer's instructions for lubrication procedure

Fill grease until it comes out of the relief fitting
