Record the time (in seconds) for one complete revolution of the cubic foot dial on the gas meter
Enter the number of cubic feet of gas consumed per hour from the gas rate chart
BTU Input Calculation
Enter the calorific value of the gas (BTU per cubic foot)
Calculate and enter the BTU input to the furnace
Pressure Regulator Adjustment
Safety Precautions
Connect a manometer to the outlet tap at the gas valve before adjusting the pressure regulator.
Pressure Regulator Adjustment
Record the initial manifold pressure in inches of water column.
Is the manifold pressure within the acceptable range for natural gas (3.5 inches water column) or propane gas (10 inches water column)?
Adjust the pressure regulator on the gas valve.
Record the final manifold pressure in inches of water column after adjustment.

Is the second stage supply line pressure regulator adjusted to give 10 inches water column with all other gas consuming appliances running?
