Functional testing of the mechanical seal

Inspect the pump and check whether liquid exits at the mechanical seal

If pumped fluid or flushing fluid exits, was the pump switched off?

Follow the installation instructions Section 10.2, Page 44

Warning: This procedure requires trained personnel with PPE!

Is there continuous wear-promoting external influences?

Select the type of external influences

Is the bearing temperature above 70 °C with standard grease (UNIREX N3)?

Is the bearing temperature above 100 °C up to 120 °C with hot bearing grease (OKS 4200)?

Operating hours since last bearing replacement

Does the operating hours exceed 5000?

If the operating hours exceed 5000 or the bearing temperature is above the recommended levels, replace the bearings.

All connections are firmly secured

All safety devices are installed

Electrical connections are correct

Pipe system on the installation side is clean

Stop valves in the system are open

Pump along with the system is filled

Pump along with the system is vented

For double mechanical seal / quench version, flushing fluid is connected without pressure (max. 0.2bar)

Suction-side stop valve is fully open

Enter the machine's operating hours

Check if the V-rings are damaged

If V-rings are damaged, replace them

Upload a photo of the greased V-rings

Sign off on the V-rings greasing

If any of the checks fail, replace the necessary parts

Sign off on the pump inspection
