Fan Bearings Replacement

Isolate electrical supply and remove fan chamber lid

Disconnect electrical wiring to terminal box

Remove the four bolts securing the motor drive bed-plate and withdraw the complete assembly from the unit case

Loosen, but do not remove, the four socket screws in the base flange and withdraw drive cover

Remove drive belt

Check mark

Remove the six nuts securing flange of bearing housing to the bed-plate and withdraw the housing

Remove fan pulley and the six bolts securing the fan case

Remove fan impeller and fan case

Check mark

Remove end caps and spacers from fan bearing housing

1 Weekly Dust Collector Maintenance

Pressure drop across the filter assembly

Record the figure in the log book

Pressure drop increased significantly over two or three successive checks?

Check the filter if pressure drop increased significantly

Pressure drop across the secondary or absolute filter

Every 1000 working hours the following parts should be checked:

1) Filter bag – for wear.

2) Rubber seals – for tears and over-compression.

3) Shaker mechanism with particular attention to:

- Tightness of mounting bolts.

- Play in eccentric.

Check mark

- Splits in diaphragm.

- Broken locators on shaker bar.

Check mark

- Torn shaker bar support strap(s).

Absolute Filter Replacement

Open secondary/absolute filter door

Check mark

Lift bar to release sealing mechanism for UMA 40MM

Check mark

Undo clamping nuts or clips as appropriate and remove retaining mesh or frame for UMA 100-450

Check mark

Undo clamping nuts sufficient to allow element removal for UMA 750

Check mark

Remove used element, place it directly into a plastic bag and then seal the bag

Check mark

Slide the new element into the housing, with the element seal against the secondary/absolute filter seal frame, until it reaches the backstop

Check mark

Clamp element in position using the arrangement provided

Check mark

Close secondary/absolute filter door

V-belt Drive Inspection

Warning: Only trained personnel should perform this procedure.

Polyvee drive belt pre-stretched and tensioned during assembly

Check mark

Enter the tension of the belt as shown in figure 14

Four bolts securing the motor loosened (not removed) for adjustment

Check mark

Slot holes in the motor baseplate permit the necessary adjustment

Check mark

Tensioning is correct to avoid harm to the belt and ensure efficient operation of the dust collector

Sign off on the V-belt drive inspection
