1 Daily Battery Water Replacement
Warning: This procedure requires trained personnel with PPE!
Tray Corrosion
Check for any breaks in the coating of the steel tray
Check for any sulfuric acid spill from the battery
Check for any signs of tray corrosion
Watering Schedule
Check the electrolyte level of two or three cells each time the battery is changed
Add water to all of the batteries assigned to each charging area on a regular time schedule
Spot check the electrolyte levels periodically to determine if the proper levels are being maintained
2 Monthly Battery Maintenance
Equalizing Charge
Check uniformity of construction and content in each cell
Check if some cells take less charge than others
Check if cells with a lower state of charge are up to the same level as the others after equalizing charge
Check if cells with a higher state of charge are somewhat overcharged to bring the cells with a below normal state of charge up to full charge
Select the frequency of equalization based on how often the batteries are cycled and the depth of the cycles
Check if unnecessary equalizing charges are avoided to prevent significant loss of battery life caused by overcharge

3 Monthly Battery Cleaning
Warning: This procedure involves handling of corrosive substances and should only be performed by trained personnel with appropriate PPE.
Check for minor spills or overflows of electrolyte
If minor spills or overflows are found, clean with rags or paper towels and dispose immediately.
Check if the top of the battery is dirty or looks damp
If the battery is dirty or damp, it is ready for a general cleaning.
General cleaning involves Powerhouse Cleaner's 3 Step Process (Corrosion Remover, Battery Cleaner, Rinse)
Apply Powerhouse's Corrosion Remover on corroded areas and let sit for at least 10 minutes
Apply Powerhouse's Battery Cleaner across the entire battery and let sit for at least 10 minutes
Rinse the battery after the Corrosion Remover and Battery Cleaner have both sat for at least 10 minutes
4 Yearly Battery Replacement
Warning: Battery replacement should be done by trained personnel only!
