Battery Replacement
- Install or replace batteries
1. Turn the truck OFF. Brake applies automatically when truck is turned OFF. Check that all controls are in neutral and disconnect the battery
2. Make certain you use the correct size and weight battery. Never operate a truck that has an underweight or undersized battery installed
3. Never let anything metal touch the top of the cells. You could cause sparks or do damage to the battery. Use an insulator (such as plywood) wnen necessary
4. Remove your truck's side panels or battery retainers
Using A Hoist:
If you use a hoist to install or remove the battery from the the battery compartment or stand, use an approved spreader bar
Using A Roller Stand:
If vou use a roller stand to install or remove a battery make sure the roller stand is the same height as the rollers in the truck's battery compartment
1 Daily Picker Components Inspection
Warning: Use caution during operational testing. Carry out the tests in an open area away from obstacles and other people. Watch out for people in the work area. Stay away from moving truck parts. Stop the truck as soon as you discover any problems. Have the problem rectified by a trained, authorized service technician before operating the truck.
Check the floor underneath the truck for traces of leaks of Transmission, Hydraulics
Check Load Backrest, any Attachments. Ensure they are fitted securely and check for damage
Check the overhead guard for damage
Check that labels and decals are legible. Replace any illegible or missing labels and decals. See parts manual for labels
Check wheels for damage and debris
Check Grab Handles, Grab Bar, Work Assist Tube and Accessories for damage and any attachment defects
Sign off on the daily picker components inspection
1 Daily Battery Inspection
WARNING! Use caution during operational testing. Carry out the tests in an open area away from obstacles and other people. Watch out for people in the work area. Stay away from moving truck parts. Stop the truck as soon as you discover any problems. Have the problem rectified by a trained, authorized service technician before operating the truck.
Inspect Battery Latch visually. Check operation. Make sure the battery is secure
Check battery compartment for spilled acid
Check the insulation of the battery terminals and battery cell connectors
Check the battery connector and cables for damage, check contacts for burning
Perform checks when charging and replacing the battery
Sign off on the daily battery inspection
1 Daily Picker Test
- Perform operational test
1. Turn on the truck and test all the displays and alarms on Display Panel
2. Test the steering
3. Check the condition of all controls, buttons, handles and pedals. All controls should revert to the neutral position automatically
4. Check operation of Hydraulic Functions
5. Test the Emergency Disconnect switch
6. Check operation of Horn
7. Check operation of Brake:
- Change travel direction (Plugging)
