100 Hourly Crawler Excavator Inspection

If not, report the issues to the maintenance team and stop the procedure

If the color is black, it is usually due to the presence of oil, dirt or foreign matter.
If the color is blue, it is usually due to overheating because of: 1. Improper alignment of contact points. 2. Excessive high wattage in the primary circuit of the ignition coil. 3. Poor condenser.

Battery Check
Battery terminals and cables dirty or corroded?
Describe the condition of the battery tray, holdown terminals and cable ends
Is the battery case cracked or leaking?
Is the top sealing compound leaking?
Are the vent holes in the filler caps open?
Electrolyte level
Note: Only add pure or distilled water when the electrolyte level is low. DO NOT OVERFILL.
Amount of water consumed in oz.
Battery Bench Load Test
Warning: Ensure the battery is removed from the tractor before proceeding
Volt meter connected between the negative and positive post
Enter the amp hour rating of the battery
Load equal to 3 times the amp hour rating connected between the positive and negative posts
Wait for 15 seconds
Enter the volt meter reading after 15 seconds
Is the volt meter reading less than 9.5 volts?
If the volt meter reading is less than 9.5 volts, the battery should be replaced
Sign off on the battery bench load test
Battery Cranking Voltage Test
NOTE: On Spark Ignition engines remove the center coil wire to prevent engine from starting
Connect a volt meter (12 volt) between the positive and negative terminals of the battery, Figure F-5
Crank the engine for 15 seconds and record voltage
Connect voltmeter (12 volt) between the starter generator 'A' terminal and ground on starter generator frame, Figure F-5
Crank the engine and record voltage
If voltage is not the same or varies more than .5 volt, check the battery cables, clean and tighten connections
Sign off on the battery cranking voltage test
Generator Output Check
Ensure the drive belt is adjusted properly.
Disconnect all cables and wires to generator.
Connect ammeter and variable resistance in series between the 'A' terminal and generator frame.
Connect voltmeter from the 'A' terminal to the frame.
Install jumper lead from the 'F' terminal to the frame.
Enter the RPM at which the unit is driven.
Enter the voltage reading from the voltmeter.
Enter the amperage reading from the ammeter.
