Hot Water Dispenser Dispense Switch Replacement
Disconnect the dispenser from the power source
Remove the top cover (3 screws) and front shroud assembly (4 screws)
Remove the top 2 screws and loosen 2 lower screws securing control panel to shroud
Disconnect switch wires from the CBA
Remove the large nut securing the switch
Installation in the reverse order
Sign off on the Dispense Switch Replacement
Hot Water Dispenser Contactor Test
Test the Contactor (H5M Only)
Disconnect the dispenser from the power source
Disconnect the black wire from the contactor coil to the limit thermostat and black wire from the red wire on the main harness on two wire 240V models
Check the voltage across the red wire and black wire with a voltmeter
The indication must be
Disconnect the dispenser from the power source
If voltage is present as described, proceed to #5. If voltage is not present as described check the wiring harness
Check for continuity between the left and right terminals on the contactor coil
If continuity is present as described, reconnect the wires and proceed to #6. If continuity is not present as described, replace the contactor
Hot Water Dispenser Steam Sensor Replacement
Disconnect the dispenser from the power source
Disconnect the thermistor from J5 on control board
Loosen the set screw and the two screws securing the two half blocks together. Remove thermistor assembly from overflow tube
Install new thermistor on tube and slide down until it contacts the flared end. NOTE: It's critical that the thermistor be centered directly under the tube opening
Snug the set screw so the block assembly does not move around easily
Connect the thermistor to J5 on control board
NOTE: DO NOT TEST OPERATION WITH PANELS REMOVED, AS AIR MOVEMENT CAN HINDER PROPER READINGS ON THERMISTOR
Sign off on the steam sensor replacement
Hot Water Dispenser Solenoid Valve Test
Warning: Disconnect the dispenser from the power source and turn-off the water supply to the dispenser
Pink wire removed from terminal 5 of the electronic control board
Voltage across the solenoid valve coil terminals
Voltage reading
If voltage was not present as described, check the dispenser wiring harness
Both wires removed from the solenoid valve coil terminals
Continuity present across the solenoid valve coil terminals
If continuity is not present as described, replace the solenoid valve coil
Solenoid valve coil action checked
Hot Water Dispenser Thermostat Replacement
Warning: Ensure the dispenser is unplugged before starting the procedure
Both wires removed from the thermostat terminals
Top lid removed from the dispenser
Thermostat bulb removed
Two #6-32 screws removed from the thermostat
New thermostat fastened to the mounting bracket
Ensure that the capillary tube is away from any electrical termination and is not kinked
Grommet slid to the red mark on the capillary tube
Bulb inserted through the hole in the tank and grommet pressed firmly
