Coffee Machine Tank Heater Replacement
Disconnect the water supply tube from the fill basin
Remove the tank inlet fitting securing the fill basin to the tank lid, remove fill basin and tank inlet gasket. Set all three parts aside for reassembly
On brewers with faucet shut-off water supply to the brewer and disconnect the inlet and outlet water lines to the faucet coil assembly
Disconnect the black wire on the limit thermostat from the tank heater switch. On late model brewers also disconnect the blue wire from the limit thermostat to the control thermostat
Disconnect the black wire and the white or red wire from the tank heater terminals
Remove sprayhead and the hex nut securing the sprayhead tube to the hood. Set aside for reassembly
Remove the eight #8-32 nuts securing the tank lid to the tank
Remove the tank lid with limit thermostat, sprayhead tube, tank heater, coil assembly and control thermostat w/bracket (early models only)
Remove the two hex nuts securing the tank heater to the tank lid. Remove tank heater with gaskets and discard
Coffee Machine Cleaning
Warning: Always unplug the machine before cleaning
Clean all surfaces with a damp cloth rinsed in mild, non-abrasive, liquid detergent
Check and clean the sprayhead. Ensure the sprayhead holes are open
With the sprayhead removed, insert the deliming spring (provided) all the way into the sprayhead tube. Saw back and forth five or six times
Note: In hard water areas, this may need to be done daily. It will help prevent liming problems in the brewer and takes less than a minute
Sign off on the coffee machine cleaning
Coffee Machine Control Thermostat Test
Warning: Disconnect the brewer from the power source before starting the test
Locate the blue wire on the control thermostat
Voltage across the blue wire on the control thermostat
If voltage is present as described, proceed to #5. If not, refer to the wiring diagrams and check the brewer wiring harness
Locate the black wire on the control thermostat
Remove the capillary bulb and grommet from the tank
Voltage across the black wire of the control thermostat when the control thermostat is turned fully clockwise
If voltage is present as described, reinstall the capillary tube into the tank to the line 4.5\ (6.0\" for Single CW models) above the bulb
Sign off on the thermostat test
Coffee Machine Limit Thermostat Replacement
Remove all wires from limit thermostat terminals
Carefully slide the limit thermostat out from under the retaining clip and remove limit thermostat
Carefully slide the new limit thermostat into the retaining clip
Reconnect the wires
Sign off on the thermostat replacement
Coffee Machine Start Switch Replacement
Warning: Ensure the coffee machine is unplugged before starting the procedure
Blue wire and white/red wire removed from the start switch
Clips inside the hood compressed and start switch pushed through the opening
New switch pushed into the opening and clips spread to hold the start switch in the hood
Wires reconnected to the new switch
Sign off on the switch replacement
