Brewer Solenoid Valve (Hot Coffee) Test
Warning: Disconnect the brewer from the power source before starting the procedure
Disconnect the white/red and white/green wires from the hot coffee solenoid valve
Press the START switch with the TEA/ OFF/COFFEE switch in the COFFEE position
Voltage across the white/red and white/green wires
Check brewer wiring harness if voltage is not as described
Check for continuity across the hot coffee solenoid valve coil terminals
Reconnect the white/red and white/green wires from the hot coffee brew timer if continuity is present
Replace the solenoid valve if continuity is not present
Warning: Connect the brewer to the power source before checking the hot coffee solenoid valve for coil action
Brewer Solenoid Valve (Iced Tea) Test
Warning: Disconnect the brewer from the power source before starting the procedure
Disconnect the white/violet and white/blue wires from the iced tea brew solenoid valve
Press the START switch with the TEA/OFF/COFFEE switch in the 'TEA' position
Voltage across the white/violet and white/blue wires
If voltage is present as described, proceed to next step. If not, check brewer wiring harness
Check for continuity across the iced tea brew solenoid valve coil terminals
If continuity is present, reconnect the wires. If not, replace the solenoid valve
Check the iced tea solenoid valve for coil action
If a 'clicking' sound is heard and water will not pass through the valve, there may be a blockage or the valve may require inspection. If the sound is not heard, replace the solenoid valve
Brewer Thermal Fuse Test
Warning: Disconnect the brewer from the power source before starting the test
Brewer disconnected from the power source
Thermal fuse disconnected from the right tank heater terminal
Black lead disconnected from the control thermostat
Continuity checked across the thermal fuse terminals with an ohmmeter
Is continuity present across the thermal fuse terminals?
If continuity is not present, replace the thermal fuse
Sign off on the Brewer Thermal Fuse Test
Brewer Limit Thermostat Replacement
Both wires removed from the limit thermostat terminals
Limit thermostat carefully slid out from under the retaining clip
New limit thermostat carefully slid into the retaining clip
Wires reconnected
Sign off on the Brewer Limit Thermostat Replacement
Brewer Limit Thermostat Test
Disconnect the brewer from the power source and remove the black wire from the limit thermostat
Check the voltage across the black wire removed from the limit thermostat and the white or red wire on the tank heater terminal
Voltage reading
Disconnect the brewer from the power source
If voltage is present as described, reconnect the black wire and proceed to #4. If voltage is not present as described, check the wiring harness
Remove the blue wire from the limit thermostat
Check the voltage across the exposed terminal of the limit thermostat and the white wire from the power cord or the red wire from the terminal block
Voltage reading
Disconnect the brewer from the power source
