Soak the head O-ring in 200°F (93°C) water for ease of installation

Remove the head assembly and all other parts on the outboard (non-driven) side of the pump.

Turn the shaft by hand until a vane comes to the top (12 o'clock) position of the rotor.

Check mark

Remove and replace the vane, ensuring the rounded edge is outward and relief grooves face the direction of rotation.

Rotate the shaft until the next rotor slot is in the top position, and replace the vane.

Check mark

Continue this procedure until all new vanes are in place.
