This procedure must be performed at the specified time by an industry certified technician who has been trained and qualified to work on this type of equipment.

A record of this procedure being successfully carried out should be maintained on file by the equipment owner should proof of adequate maintenance be required at a later date for warranty purposes.

Sample compressor oil, check for acid, and replace if necessary.

Disconnect power source and lock out and check tightness of power wiring connections.

Check glycol concentration on low temperature or other applications where freezing may be a problem.

Sign off on the chiller maintenance

Check oil level in the oil separator sight glass

Check liquid line sight glass / moisture indicator

Record system operating temperatures

Record system operating pressures

Check condenser coils for dirt/debris

Clean condenser coils if necessary

Sign off on the weekly chiller check

This procedure must be performed by an industry certified technician

Maintain a record of this procedure for warranty purposes

Superheat on the economizer feed to the compressor

Warning: This procedure requires trained personnel with PPE!

Refrigerant charge removed and all known leaks repaired?

Enter the amount of refrigerant mixed with dry nitrogen

Any leaks detected with electronic leak detector?

Unit refrigerant pressure relief valves not exceeded?

Conducting the gas pressure hold test

High-quality, high-resolution analog pressure gauge installed on one of the service valves?

All system valves including manual valves and EEVs are 100% open?

Warning: This procedure requires trained personnel with PPE!

Enter the amount of chiller refrigerant charge

Reference the chiller nameplate or factory order form (FOF) to verify the charge

Enter the evaporator approach (STD)

For new sales, these design values are included as part of the FOF

If not included, they can be provided upon request from the chiller sales engineer from the chiller rating program

Equations: Evaporator approach = (LCHLT) - (EST), Discharge superheat = (DT) - (CST), Subcooling = (CST) - condensed refrigerant liquid temperature (from condenser outlet)
