Brake Inspection and Adjustment

Refer to the service manual for brake adjustment

Check the wheel hubs for side play

Refill with the correct grade of oil

Check for any oil leaks after refilling

Ensure the gearbox is operating smoothly

Record the type and grade of oil used

Inspect the mechanical seal for excessive wear and damage.

Was the mechanical seal replaced?

Inspect the bearings for excessive wear and damage.

Impeller and Wear Plates Clearance Check

Measure the clearance between the impeller and the front wear plate.

Measure the clearance between the impeller and the rear wear plate.

Refer to Technical Reference on page 49 for recommended vacuum pump oil

Exhaust Smoke Eliminator Filter Replacement

Is the back pressure more than 3 psi above the nominal running pressure?

Replace the exhaust smoke eliminator filter if necessary

Refer to the appropriate service manual for filter replacement instructions

Check the collection tank for the build-up of sediment and clean as necessary.

Drain the bund tank if it is full before further operations.
