Inspect the following components for signs of wear or damage

Tighten any loose screws and/or bolts

Check exterior surface of the door sections for any minor cracks

Verify door has not shifted right or left in the opening

Note any suspected problems for technician review

Test the balance of the door by lifting it manually

Ensure no pressure washer is used

Prepare mild detergent solution with less than 0.5% phosphate

Clean the door with the prepared detergent solution

Clean behind weatherstrips on both sides and top of door

Use mild detergent solution and soft cloth to clean glass

Rinse glass thoroughly after cleaning

Surface Preparation for Painting

Buff or sand surface scratches with 0000 steel wool or no. 400 sand paper

Is the metal substrate exposed?

Treat exposed substrate to prevent rust

Test adhesion in an inconspicuous area

Ensure surface is dry before painting

Coat with premium quality latex house paint
