Check that all parts are in place and clean

Is the airflow through the unit adequate?

Inspect the smoke detector for any visible damage or obstruction

Is the smoke detector functioning properly?

Describe any issues found with the smoke detector

Refer to the smoke detector Installation and Maintenance Instructions for detailed procedures

Check supply fan motor bearings

Repair or replace the motor as necessary

Electrical Components Inspection

Inspect main unit control panel for loose electrical components

Inspect heat section control box for loose terminal connections

Check for damaged wire insulation

Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including goggles or face shield, chemical resistant gloves, boots, apron or suit.

Refer to the cleaning agent manufacturer’s Materials Safety Data Sheet and follow all recommended safe handling practices.

Remove shipping screws (ones without washers).

Lift hail guards up so screws with washers go to top of keyhole.

Remove hailguard by sliding washer head screw through keyhole.

Remove enough panels from the unit to gain access to the coil. Remove the access panel from the roof located next to the rear condenser fan.

Drain Pans and Condensate Piping

Check the unit’s drain pans for blockages.

Check the condensate piping for blockages.

Inspect the evaporator coils for dirt and bent fins.

Inspect the condenser coils for dirt and bent fins.

Clean the coils if they appear dirty.

Condenser Fans and Motor Bearings

Lock the main power disconnect switch open

Verify no power is present with a voltmeter

Were the filters cleaned or replaced?

Ensure all tools and materials are removed from the work area
