8.1 Inspection and maintenance intervals

Use only genuine spare parts in accordance with the valid parts list

Install a new brake control system when replacing the brake coil

Ensure motors are not hot to avoid burns

Secure hoist drives or lower them to prevent falling

Isolate the motor and brake from the supply to prevent unintentional power-up

Inspect brake types if used as a holding brake

Document inspection/maintenance intervals based on project planning documents

Check the condition of the anticorrosion coating

Is the coating intact and undamaged?

Touch up the surface coating if minor scratches are present

Renew the anticorrosion coating if significant wear is detected

Inspect the following brake components

BMG02 Brake Inspection (Sec. 8.4)

Isolate the motor and brake from the supply

Unscrew the hand lever, remove the fan guard and the fan

Loosen screws and remove the complete brake with the releasing lever

Measure the thickness 'd' of the brake disk

Is the brake disk thickness above the minimum value?

Isolate the motor and brake from the supply, safeguarding them against unintentional power-up

8.3 Inspection / maintenance on the motor

Remove the hex head bolt from the drive end bearing end shield and the non-drive end bearing end shield, release the stator from the drive end bearing end shield

Motors with BMG02, BR03 brake: remove the complete brake with the releasing lever

Visual inspection: are there traces of gear oil or condensation inside the stator?

Change the low-viscosity grease in the backstop

Check the temperature range compatibility

Select the motor type for lubrication

Apply the specified amount of grease
