Remove the hex head bolt from the drive end bearing end shield and the non-drive end bearing end shield, release the stator from the drive end bearing end shield

For motors with BM/BMG brake: open the terminal box cover, unfasten the brake cable from the rectifier; push the non-drive end bearing end shield and the brake off the stator and carefully lift them off

Braking Torque Adjustment

Isolate the motor and brake from the supply, safeguarding them against unintentional power-up

Unscrew the hand lever, remove the fan guard and the fan

Loosen the screws and remove the complete brake with the releasing lever

Loosen the screws and remove the guide ring with friction plate, brake disc, pressure plate and damping plate

Remove the brake springs from the brake coil body and replace them with new ones

Position the new brake springs symmetrically

Slide the damping plate over the two studs attached to the pressure plate so the embossing pattern is located with the projecting side facing the pressure plate

Place the pressure plate on the brake springs together with the damping plate; guide the studs attached to the pressure plate through the holes in the brake coil body and ensure correct positioning
