Launch the Analog Trim function using AMS Device Manager or a communication device.

Connect a reference milliamp meter to the 4–20 mA output of the primary sensor. Connect the positive lead to the positive terminal and the negative lead to the test terminal.

The Analog Trim function will then force the analog output of the ERS System to 4 mA.

Enter the mA reading from the reference meter

If the reference meter reads “4 mA,” select YES

If the reference meter still does not read “4 mA,” select NO, and repeat Step 3.

Repeat Step 3 and Step 4 for the 20 mA output.

Sign off on the Analog Output Trim Adjustment

Warning: DP calibration functions must be performed after completing the calibration functions on the individual PHI and PLO sensors.

PHI and PLO sensors calibrated?

Zero trim for PHI and PLO eliminates the DP offset.

Zero trim for PHI and PLO performed?

Performing a zero DP trim will establish a new DP zero point.

This section contains information on commissioning and operating a 3051S Electronic Remote Sensor (ERS) System.

Instructions for performing operation and maintenance functions are given for a communication device. For convenience, communication device Fast Key sequences are labeled “Fast Keys” for each software function below the appropriate headings.

Calibrating a Rosemount ERS System involves the following tasks:

1. Configure process variables.

See Basic setup for additional details on configuring the following:

Remove the housing cover opposite the field terminal side

Remove the LCD display by holding in the two clips and pulling outward

Loosen the two small screws located on the assembly in the 8 o’clock and 2 o’clock positions

Pull out the assembly to expose the SuperModule™ connector

Grasp the SuperModule connector and pull upwards (avoid pulling wires)

Housing rotation may be required to access locking tabs

Sign off on the electronics removal

Upload a photo of the connected reference meter to the ERS System

Was the loop test function launched successfully?

Enter the mA value output on the 4-20 mA loop

Enter the reading from the reference meter

If the values do not match, select the possible issues

Sign off on the functional test
