Pentair Cartridge Filter CCP240

Turn off the pump and shut off any automatic controls

Disconnect power at the circuit breaker

Open the Manual Air Relief Valve by turning the top 1/4 turn counterclockwise

Is the pressure gauge reading zero (0) psi?

Pull out the locking tabs and unlock the valve stem and cover assembly from the valve body counter-clockwise

Pull the valve stem and cover assembly away from the valve body

Ensure all recommended equipment is available

Remove all oils and cleaning solutions from the cartridges

Put on protective equipment - rubber gloves, safety glasses and N-95 dust mask

Confirm storage of muriatic acid in an opaque container away from direct sunlight

Create a solution of one part muriatic acid to twenty parts water in a large plastic container

Determine When to Clean the Filter

Enter the current pressure reading from the pressure gauge

Is the pressure reading approximately 10 psi higher than the 'Original Starting Pressure'?

Is there a significant reduction in flow?

Shut off pump and relieve all pressure from the filtration system

Open the Manual Air Relief Valve

Ensure pressure gauge reads zero (0) psi

Open the drain plug and allow all water to drain from the filter

Record the current pressure reading on the gauge

Is the pressure gauge reading zero (0) psi after pressure is relieved?

Is the pressure gauge indicating pressure when the system is operating?

Inspect the pressure gauge for readability and damage

Replace the pressure gauge (P/N 190058) if it does not meet the requirements

Ensure all tools and materials are removed from the work area

Shut off pump and relieve all pressure from the filtration system

Open the drain plug at the bottom of the filter and allow all water to drain

Loosen the clamp barrel nut using a 7/8-inch wrench

Remove the barrel nut, spring, and washers from the T-bolt

Remove the clamp ring from the filter

Carefully lift the filter lid away from the tank bottom

Place the tank lid and O-ring in a safe place
