Pump Strainer Basket Cleaning
Preparation
Turn off the pump at the circuit breaker
Relieve pressure in the system by allowing the water to cool
Basket Removal and Cleaning
Gently tap the clamp in a counter-clockwise direction to remove the clamp and lid
Remove debris and rinse out the basket
Is the basket cracked?
Replace the basket if it is cracked

Inspect all covers for the following issues
Is any cover loose, cracked, damaged, broken or missing?
Cover Replacement
Replace any loose, cracked, damaged, broken or missing cover with an appropriate certified cover.
Replace drain covers if they show signs of deterioration due to sunlight and weather exposure.
1 Weekly Pump Strainer Basket Inspection
Warning: DO NOT open the strainer pot if pump fails to prime or if pump has been operating without water in the strainer pot.
Caution: Opening the pump may cause serious personal injury.

Are the suction and discharge valves open?
Is the strainer pot temperature cool to touch?

Visually inspect the basket through the 'See Through Lid' for leaves and debris.
Is the basket free of leaves and debris?

Safety Precautions
Disconnect power to the pump at the circuit breaker
Disconnect the communication cable
Ensure suction and discharge valves are open and strainer pot temperature is cool to touch before opening
Confirm reading of all servicing instructions before working on the pump
Motor Care - Protection from Heat
Shade the motor from the sun
Ensure any enclosure is well ventilated to prevent overheating
Provide ample cross ventilation
Shaft Seal Replacement
Pump Disassembly
Turn off the pump circuit breaker at the main panel.
Drain the pump by removing the drain plugs.
Remove the 6 bolts that hold the main pump body to the rear sub-assembly.
Gently pull the two pump halves apart, removing the rear sub-assembly.
Loosen the two holding screws located on the diffuser using a 3/32 inch Allen head wrench.
Hold the impeller securely and remove the impeller lock screw using a #2 Phillips screwdriver (left-handed thread, loosens clockwise).
Remove the shaft cap at the back of the motor and hold the shaft secure with a ½ inch open-end wrench.
Unscrew the impeller from the shaft by twisting it counterclockwise.
