Remove the air cleaner cover and primary element

Clean the primary element: When dry dust adheres to the element, blow compressed air from the inside, turning the element. Pressure of compressed air must be under 205 kPa (2.1 kgf/cm², 30 psi)

Replace air cleaner primary element: Once yearly or every 1000 hours, whichever comes first

Check to see if the evacuator valve is blocked with dust

NOTE: The air cleaner uses a dry element, never apply oil. Do not run the engine with filter element removed. Operating in dusty conditions requires more frequent maintenance. Align the arrow marks when reinstalling the air cleaner cover. Do not touch the secondary element except in cases where replacing is required.

Open the evacuator valve once a week under ordinary conditions - or daily when used in a dusty place - to get rid of large particles of dust and dirt

Is the fluid level between the UPPER and LOWER levels?

DANGER: Keep open sparks and flames away from the battery at all times, especially when charging the battery.

WARNING: Batteries, battery posts, terminals, and related accessories contain lead and lead compounds, and other chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. WASH HANDS AFTER HANDLING.

WARNING: Never remove the battery cap while the engine is running.

IMPORTANT: Mishandling the battery shortens the service life and adds to maintenance costs.

DANGER: When the battery is being activated, hydrogen and oxygen gases in the battery are extremely explosive. Keep open sparks and flames away from the battery at all times, especially when charging the battery.

Engine stopped and key removed?

If the fan drive belt is loose, the engine may overheat. To adjust, loosen bolts and move the alternator outward to tighten the belt. After adjustment, securely tighten the bolts.

Enter the belt deflection in mm after adjustment

Belt deflection approx. 10 mm (0.4 in.)?

Sign off on the fan drive belt tension adjustment

⚠ WARNING: To avoid serious injury or death, be sure to stop the engine and remove the key when attempting to make the following checks and changes. Never fail to check the fuel lines periodically. The fuel lines are subject to wear and aging. Fuel may leak out onto the running engine, causing a fire.

Close the fuel valves below the fuel tanks LH and RH

The fuel line is made of rubber and ages regardless of service period.

If the fuel line and clamps are found damaged or deteriorated, replace them

Check the fuel filter, if it is clogged by debris or contaminated with water, replace it

IMPORTANT: When the fuel line is disconnected for maintenance or repair, close both ends of the fuel line with a piece of clean cloth or paper to prevent dust and dirt from entering. In addition, particular care must be taken not to admit dust and dirt into the fuel pump. Entrance of even a small amount of dust or dirt can cause premature wear and malfunction of the fuel pump and injector components.
