10 Hourly / Daily Maintenance
Lights - Check that all lights (including headlights) are functioning properly
Fuel system - Drain water and sediment from fuel filter
Engine - Remove any dirt from area surrounding the engine
Cooling system/air conditioning system - Clean the radiator and condenser, fins and screens
Air brake system - Check compressed air tank for condensed water. If condensed water drains out, replace air-drier cartridge, otherwise do this every 1500 hours or every 2 years at the latest (see Service - Every 1500 Hours or 2 Years).
Check brakes
Oil level - Check the transmission/hydraulic system
1. Park tractor so that it is level.
2. Engage park lock.
1500 Hourly Maintenance
Accumulator on TLS front-wheel drive axle - Check nitrogen pressure
Transmission/Hydraulic system - Change the oil
1. Start the engine and actuate a few hydraulic functions so that the oil heats up.
2. Park tractor so that it is level. Lower draft links, front loader, front implements, and other implements that draw oil from the transmission.
3. Shut off engine and withdraw ignition key.
4. Engage park lock.
5. Take out drain screws (A) and (B) and drain the oil into a suitable container. For capacities, see Specifications.
Transmission - Clean intake screens
1. Remove screw plug (B), pull out intake screen and wash in fuel. Clean the area where the intake screen is installed. Re-install the intake screen.
2000 Hourly Maintenance
Engine - Have glow plugs checked by your John Deere™ dealer
Engine - Have glow plugs checked by your John Deere™ dealer
Engine - Have valves adjusted by your John Deere™ dealer (3000 Hourly)
Engine - Air cleaner, change the secondary element (no later than at every fourth change of the primary element or every 5 years) (4500 Hourly)
Cooling system - Change the coolant (if COOL-GARD™ II is used and coolant is checked annually)(6000 Hourly)
Front-wheel drive axle - Have accumulator of TLS™ changed by your John Deere™ dealer (10000 Hourly)
Sign off on the 2000 Hourly Maintenance
250 Hourly Maintenance
Retrieve the diagnostic trouble codes, rectify errors, and then delete the diagnostic trouble codes
Check neutral start circuit
Tractors with SyncroPlus™ transmission: 1. Depress the clutch pedal.
2. Move range-shift lever (A) to neutral position.
3. Move gear-shift lever (B) to any gear.
4. Turn key in key switch clockwise to end position. The starting motor must NOT turn over. If it does, see your John Deere™ dealer immediately.
5. Repeat the test in all the other gears.
