John Deere Loader 544J

Remove and clean engine crankcase vent tube

Replace air cleaner dust unloader valve

Lift and hold lever (1) to unlock cover

Rotate cover counterclockwise and remove cover

Install new filter elements into housing one at a time making sure secondary element is centered in canister

Grease loader linkage and cylinder pivots

Grease front steering cylinder pivots

Grease rear steering cylinder pivots

Sign off on the 100 hourly maintenance

Check coolant recovery tank level

Clean air cleaner dust unloader valve

Park machine on a level surface

Make sure dipstick (A) is fully seated

Check oil level in the cross hatched area before starting the engine

Allow the oil to drain into the oil pan for 10 minutes after shutdown

Check if engine oil level is above the ADD mark 10 minutes after shutdown

Check and adjust engine valve lash

Drain and refill cooling system

Check radiator hoses for cracks and leaks

Check radiator and oil cooler for dirt, damage, leaks, and loose or broken mountings

Clean radiator and oil cooler fins

Connect a hose to drain valve (1) on radiator

Turn drain valve counterclockwise to open

Allow coolant to drain into a container

Park machine on a level surface

Open drain valve (A) and drain oil into a container

Turn filter (C) counterclockwise to remove

Clean mounting surface and apply thin film of oil to gasket of new filter
