Use canned, pressurized air to clean debris from under the keys

Use a specially designed key puller if removing a key

Ensure the power to the computer is turned off

Remove the retaining plate and the ball from the housing

Pull out any debris from the ball socket

Wipe the ball with a clean, dry cloth

Reassemble the mouse ball and retaining plate
