Sensor Calibration
NOTE
On versions that feature the Bluetooth® link, it is preferential to use a smartphone running the app to perform maintenance tasks.
This section describes how to perform a calibration using the control buttons and the internal maintenance status indicator. Before starting calibration, make sure that the gas detector is powered on.
Activate Inhibit Mode
Press and hold the UP button for 2 seconds to activate inhibit mode.
Is the yellow indicator on?
Connect Voltmeter
Connect the positive probe of a voltmeter to the positive terminal.
Connect the negative probe to the negative terminal of the output voltage monitor.
6 Monthly Bump Testing
Preparation
Connect your smartphone with the target gas detector via Bluetooth.
Place the detector in inhibit mode using the mobile app.
Bump Test Execution
Connect a cylinder of reference gas to the target detector using a suitable tube.
Apply the bump test gas to the detector.
Did the detector pass the bump test?
Post-Test Actions
If the detector fails the bump test, check and calibrate the detector if necessary.
Sensor Replacement
Pre-Replacement Warnings
Use only genuine replacement sensors for Sensepoint XCL.
Ensure power is removed or sensor is in maintenance mode before replacement.
Smartphone Method
Connect smartphone to Sensepoint XCL via Bluetooth.
Tap the Maintenance button and select Change Sensor.
Follow the on-screen instructions.
Manual Replacement Steps
Press and hold the UP button for 10 seconds to switch to sensor replacement mode.
