Disconnect and lockout electrical power

Verify bearing location and type

Refer to manufacturer's instructions for lubrication procedure

Fill grease until it comes out of the relief fitting

Check the tightness of all hold-down bolts before checking the alignment.

Move the motor if re-alignment is necessary.

Achieve final alignment with both pump and motor hold down bolts tight.

Recheck both alignments after making adjustments

Enter Total Indicator Reading for parallel alignment.

Is parallel alignment achieved with Total Indicator Reading .005" or less?

Drain system and flush if necessary

Remove motor hold-down bolts or disconnect coupling and remove spacer

Remove casing bolts and pump hold-down bolts

Remove motor and rotating element from casing

Unscrew impeller bolt with a socket wrench

Pry off impeller using two pry bars (180º apart)

Ensure pump is primed and suction pipe is full of liquid

Ensure discharge valve is partially open

Is the pump operating at or near zero flow?

Ensure rotating parts are lubricated with liquid

Install the mechanical seal stationary seat in the seal housing using soapy water as a lubricant

Install the mechanical seal spring retainer, spring and rotary assembly on the shaft sleeve using soapy water to lubricate (S-Group)

Slide the shaft sleeve over the pump shaft, ensuring a new shaft sleeve o-ring is used (S-Group)

Verify the correct o-ring is used in the impeller washer and shaft sleeve

Install the mechanical seal spring and rotary on the shaft sleeve using soapy water to lubricate (M-Group)

Slide the shaft sleeve over the pump shaft, ensuring a new shaft sleeve o-ring is used (M-Group)

Place the mechanical seal spring retainer over the impeller hub (M-Group)
