8. Maintenance
Disconnect and lockout electrical power
Verify bearing location and type
Refer to manufacturer's instructions for lubrication procedure

Has it been 2,000 hours or 3 months since last lubrication?

Fill grease until it comes out of the relief fitting
Mechanical Seal Maintenance
Reassembly
Install the mechanical seal stationary seat in the seal housing using soapy water as a lubricant
Install the mechanical seal spring retainer, spring and rotary assembly on the shaft sleeve using soapy water to lubricate (S-Group)
Slide the shaft sleeve over the pump shaft, ensuring a new shaft sleeve o-ring is used (S-Group)
Verify the correct o-ring is used for the shaft sleeve and impeller washer
Install the mechanical seal spring and rotary on the shaft sleeve using soapy water to lubricate (M-Group)
Slide the shaft sleeve over the pump shaft (M-Group)
Ensure a new shaft sleeve o-ring is used (M-Group)
Place the mechanical seal spring retainer over the impeller hub (M-Group)

7. Operation
Ensure pump is primed and suction pipe is full of liquid
Is the discharge valve partially open?
Check for expansion of piping
Check coupling alignment
Is the pump operating away from zero flow?
Ensure rotating parts are lubricated to prevent scoring or seizing
Wear Ring Maintenance
Disassembly
Remove wear ring if excessively worn
Reassembly
Is the wear ring being replaced?
Ensure no lubricants are used on the metal-to-metal fit when pressing in the replacement
Coupling Alignment Check
3. Alignment
Check the tightness of all hold-down bolts before checking the alignment.
Is re-alignment necessary?
Move the motor if re-alignment is necessary.
Shim as required.
Final alignment is achieved when both parallel and angular requirements are met with both pump and motor hold down bolts tight.
Recheck both alignments after making adjustments.
