Insert the shaft assembly through the tube

Use a heat lamp or soak in hot water

Check for metal burrs on the pump shaft

Lubricate the end of the shaft with Vaseline

Install the seal over the shaft

Ensure slots face up toward the bearing assembly

Ensure the raised lip does not buckle

Install the bearing assembly onto the shaft

Loosen the setscrew and remove the half coupling (item 2) from the end of the pump shaft.

Gently hold the intake tube and use a 3/8” punch and hammer to drive the bottom of the shaft (item 11) toward the top until the bearing assembly (item 3) is exposed.

Use a 1/8” punch to drive out the roll pin in the center of the bearing assembly (item 3) and slide the bearing assembly off of the shaft.

Remove the pump shaft assembly by pushing it down through the intake tube (item 7) and out the bottom.

Remove and discard the seal assembly (item 4). Never re-use a seal assembly.

Ensure all parts are removed and accounted for

Is the work area clean and free of debris?

Visually inspect components for damage

Inspect the bearing assembly for rust, corrosion, or tightness

Inspect the pump shaft in the seal area and the center bearing areas for excessive wear

Was any component replaced due to damage?

Was the bearing assembly replaced due to rust, corrosion, or tightness?

Was the pump shaft replaced due to excessive wear?
