Is the pump switched off and isolated from the electrical supply before pouring oil?

Check the oil-level in the oil sight-glass (12) and ensure it is between the MAX and MIN level marks.

Is the oil-level near to or below the MIN level mark?

Remove the oil filler-plug (1) and pour more oil into the reservoir until the oil reaches the MAX level mark.

If the oil-level goes above the MAX mark, remove the oil drain-plug (11) and drain the excess oil from the pump.

Remove the retainer circlip (3)

Remove the protective wire mesh (2) and filter elements (1)

Wash the wire mesh and filter in a suitable cleaning solution

Allow the wire mesh and filter to dry before replacing them in the pump

Refit the wire mesh (2) and filter element (1) in the adaptor plate housing

Retain with the retainer circlip (3)

Change the run capacitor as per the maintenance plan

Enter the earth (ground) continuity reading

Is the earth (ground) continuity less than 0.1 Ω?

Enter the insulation resistance reading

Is the insulation resistance greater than 10 MΩ?

Did the motor pass the earth continuity and insulation resistance tests?

Replace the motor if it failed the tests

Disconnect the pump from the electrical supply

Use a dry cloth to remove dirt from the fan-cover

Use a brush to remove deposits from the enclosure

Is the enclosure free of deposits?

Operate the pump for approximately ten minutes to warm the oil, then switch off the pump.

Isolate the pump from the electrical supply and disconnect it from the vacuum system.

Remove the oil filler-plug (1).

Place a suitable block under the pump-motor to tilt the pump and place a suitable container under the oil drain-plug (gravity drain) (11).

Remove the oil drain-plug and allow the oil to drain into the container.

Check if the oil is dirty or contaminated

Is the oil dirty or contaminated?

Refit the oil drain-plug and pour clean oil into the pump.
