Main Circuit Short Check
Warning: Ensure the voltage between (+) and (–) of the diode bridge (DB1) is approx. 0 V before checking.
Enter the voltage between (+) and (–) of the diode bridge (DB1)
If the voltage is not approx. 0 V, stop the procedure and report the issue.
Enter the resistance between the pins of the DB1
Is the resistance ∞ or less than 1 kΩ?
If the resistance is ∞ or less than 1 kΩ, a short circuit occurs on the main circuit.
Sign off on the main circuit short check
Electronic Expansion Valve Check
EV connector correctly connected to the PCB
EV generates latching sound when power is turned off and on again
Continuity confirmed when connector is disconnected and checked with a tester
Check the continuity between the pins
EV coil is not faulty if there is continuity between the pins
Outdoor unit PCB is not faulty if continuity is confirmed
Note: The latching sound varies depending on the valve type
Sign off on the electronic expansion valve check
Compressor Removal
Warning: Be sure to wait 10 minutes or more after turning off all power supplies before disassembling work.
Removed the 2 nuts of the compressor?
Warning: Be careful not to get yourself burnt with pipes and other parts that are heated by the gas brazing machine.
Warning: If the refrigerant gas leaks during work, ventilate the room. (If the refrigerant gas is exposed to flames, toxic gas may be generated.)
Warning: Since it may happen that the refrigerant oil in the compressor catches fire, prepare wet cloth so as to extinguish fire immediately.
Caution: From the viewpoint of global environment protection, do not discharge the refrigerant gas in the atmosphere. Make sure to collect all the refrigerant gas.
Restored the piping by nonoxidation brazing?
It is required to prevent the carbonization of the oil inside the four way valve and the deterioration of the gaskets affected by heat. (Keep below 120°C.) For the sake of this, wrap the four way valve with wet cloth and provide water so that the cloth does not dry.
Disconnected the brazed part where is easy to disconnect and restore?
Outer Panels / Fan Motor Removal
Warning Be sure to wait 10 minutes or more after turning off all power supplies before disassembling work.
1. Appearance features
Take care not to cut your finger by the fins of the outdoor heat exchanger.
2. Remove the panels.
1 Remove the screw of the stop valve cover. Pull down the stop valve cover and remove it.
The stop valve cover is united with the shield plate.
When reassembling, make sure to fit the 5 hooks.
2 Remove the 2 screws and lift the top panel.
3 Remove the drip proof plate.
Electrical Box Removal
Warning: Be sure to wait 10 minutes or more after turning off all power supplies before disassembling work.
Preparation: Remove the panels and disconnect the connector for the fan motor according to the “Removal of Outer Panels / Fan Motor”.
Disconnect the connector for the overload protector [S40]
Disconnect the connector for the four way valve coil [S80]
Disconnect the 2 connectors for the reactor
Disconnect the relay connector for the compressor
Disconnect the connector for the electronic expansion valve coil [S20]
