1 Pull the electronic expansion valve coil out.
2. Remove the thermistors.
You can remove the thermistor ASSY with the electrical box on.
(1) Disconnect [S90] from the electrical box (main PCB).
(2) Release the thermistor harness from the hook at the bottom of electrical box.
(3) Pull out the clamp of the thermistor harness from the hole of the electrical box.
1 Pull out the outdoor heat exchanger thermistor.
Electronic Expansion Valve Check
EV connector correctly connected to the PCB
EV generates a latching sound when power is turned off and on again
Continuity present when connector is disconnected and checked with a tester
Check the continuity between the pins
EV coil is not faulty
Outdoor unit PCB is not faulty
Note: The latching sound varies depending on the valve type
Sign off on the electronic expansion valve check
Thermistor Resistance Check
Warning: Disconnect the connectors of the thermistors from the PCB before proceeding
Thermistors disconnected from the PCB
Measure the resistance of each thermistor
Note: The relationship between normal temperature and resistance is shown in the table and the graph below
The room temperature thermistor is directly mounted on the display PCB. Remove the display PCB from the control PCB to measure the resistance
Display PCB removed from the control PCB
Measure the resistance of the room temperature thermistor
When the indoor heat exchanger thermistor is soldered on the PCB, remove the thermistor and measure the resistance
Indoor heat exchanger thermistor removed from the PCB
Hall IC Check
Check the connector connection
With the power on, operation off, and the connector connected, check the following
Output voltage of about 5 V between pins 1 and 3
Generation of 3 pulses between pins 2 and 3 when the fan motor is operating
If NG in step 1
If NG in step 2
If OK in both steps 1 and 2
