Service Check Function
Check Method 1
1. When the timer cancel button is held down for 5 seconds, 00 is displayed on the temperature display screen.
2. Press the timer cancel button repeatedly until a long beep sounds.
The code indication changes in the sequence shown below.
Note: 1. A short beep or two consecutive beeps indicate non-corresponding codes.
2. To return to the normal mode, hold the timer cancel button down for 5 seconds. When the remote controller is left untouched for 60 seconds, it also returns to the normal mode.
3. Not all the error codes are displayed. When you cannot find the error code, try the check method 2. (Refer to page 92.)
Check Method 2 1. Press the 3 buttons (TEMP, TEMP, MODE) at the same time to enter the diagnosis mode.
The left-side number blinks.
Sound Blanket Removal
Warning: Be sure to wait for 10 minutes or more after turning off all power supplies before disassembling work.
Open the sound blanket (outer)
Remove the sound blanket (top upper)
The sound blanket is fragile. Carefully pass the discharge pipe through it.
Remove the screw and slightly push the partition plate (1) to the left for easy work.

Open the sound blanket (inner)
Remove the sound blanket (inner)
The sound blanket is fragile. Be careful of the notches of the compressor mount (4 locations).
Inverter Checker Check
Warning: This procedure requires trained personnel with PPE!
Power turned off
Install the inverter checker instead of a compressor
Charged voltage of the built-in smoothing electrolytic capacitor dropped to 10 VDC or below
Terminals removed from the compressor
Terminals connected to the terminals of the inverter checker
Warning: Do not let the terminals (U,V,W) touch each other. High voltage is applied
Power transistor test operation activated from the outdoor unit
Diagnose according to 6 LEDs lighting status
Fan Motor Connector Output Check
FTXS series
Check the connection of connector
Check the motor power supply voltage output (pins 4 - 7)
Check the motor control voltage (pins 4 - 3)
Check the rotation command voltage (pins 4 - 2)
Check the rotation pulse (pins 4 - 1)
Sign off on the Fan Motor Connector Output Check
Electrical Box Removal
Warning: Be sure to wait for 10 minutes or more after turning off all power supplies before disassembling work.
Remove the screw on the stop valve mounting plate.
Remove the screw on the partition plate (1).
Remove the 2 screws to detach the ground wires.
Disconnect the connector for fan motor [S70] and release the 4 clamps attached to the electrical box.
Release the fan motor lead wire.
Disconnect the connectors of the front side.
The compressor lead wire is fixed on the partition plate (1) with a clamp.
Pull out the clamp and release the compressor lead wire.
