3 Monthly Level Controller Maintenance
WARNING! Safety Precautions
Isolate the controller from the system and ensure all pressure is released from the controller body.
Shut off and vent the supply and output (signal air) lines to the controller.
If the pilot is electric, disconnect all power to the controller.
Isolation and Pressure Release
Isolate the controller from the process by shutting off the output and supply lines to the controller.
If the pilot is electric, turn off and lock out all electrical power to the controller.
Release the process pressure.

Level Controller Reassembly
Mounting and Initial Assembly
Mount the case to the body with two cap screws and tighten to 6 foot-pounds.
Slide components onto the shaft
Level Adjusting Bar Setup
Was the level adjusting screw removed or adjusted during disassembly?
Position the level adjusting screw with equal thread showing above and below the level adjusting bar.
Ensure the cap on the level adjusting screw points away from the two cap screws on the shaft end of the level adjusting bar.
Slide the level adjusting bar onto the shaft against the spacer with the level adjusting screw opposite the controller body.
Loosely secure the cap screws that hold the bar to the shaft.
Initial 3 Months Level Controller Maintenance

Isolation and Pressure Release
Isolate the controller from the process by shutting off the output and supply lines to the controller.
If the pilot is electric, have you turned off and locked out all electrical power to the controller?
Release the process pressure from the controller body.
Level Controller Preventative Maintenance
Check the condition of the following components
Is there any leak detected in the O-rings?
Replace the O-rings if a leak is detected.

Pre-replacement Safety Measures
Isolate the controller from the system
Release all pressure from the controller body
Shut off and vent the supply and output (signal air) lines to the controller
If repairing an electric pilot, is all power disconnected from the controller?
Pneumatic Pilots Replacement
Remove the supply and output lines from the rear of the controller
Remove cap screws and the pilot from the case
Rebuild the pilot using the Pilot Re-build Kit (PRK) if necessary
Level Controller Disassembly
Preliminary Steps
Ensure all tools and safety equipment are prepared
Disassembly Instructions
Relax all tension on the balance spring
Remove the balance spring and upper spring retainer
Remove the lock nut from the flapper bar and slide the flapper bar off the pivot pin
Remove the lock nut from the torque bar and slide the torque bar off of the shaft
Loosen the two cap screws while holding the level adjusting bar until it is free on the shaft
Slide the level adjusting bar and the spacer from the shaft
