Adjusting the Condenser-Fan
Shut off the unit power supply and apply the appropriate lockout/tagout procedures
Remove the condenser-fan assembly (grille, motor, and fan)
Loosen the fan hub setscrews
Upload a photo of the adjusted fan height as shown in Fig. 32
Tighten the setscrews
Replace the condenser-fan assembly
Sign off on the condenser-fan adjustment
Belt Tension Maintenance
Loosen the four motor mounting nuts that attach the motor to the blower rail
Loosen the two jack bolt locking nuts beneath the motor mounting plate. Turn the jack bolt locking nut counterclockwise to loosen
Turn the jack bolts counterclockwise to loosen and clockwise to tighten
Adjust the V-belt for proper tension
Make sure the fan shaft and motor shaft are parallel before tightening the motor mount nuts
Make adjustments as necessary
Tighten the four motor mounting nuts
Check the V-belt tension. Make adjustments as necessary
Re-tighten the four motor mounting nuts
Changing Fan Speed
Shut off the main unit power supply, and use the approved lockout/tag-out procedures.
Loosen the belt by loosening the motor adjustment bolts as described in the Belt Adjustment section.
Loosen the movable pulley flange setscrew.
Adjust the movable flange
Warning: Increasing fan speed increases load on the motor. Do not exceed maximum speed specified in the Product Data or motor amperage listed on the unit rating plate.
Set the movable flange at the nearest keyway or flat of the pulley hub and tighten the setscrew to torque of 72 ± 5 in.-lb (8.14 ± 0.56 Nm).
Sign off on the fan speed change
Compressor Replacement
Warning: This procedure requires trained personnel with PPE!
Connect service gages to suction and discharge pressure fittings
Energize the compressor
Check if suction pressure drops and discharge pressure rises
If the suction pressure does not drop and the discharge pressure does not rise to normal levels:
Check if the evaporator fan is rotating in the wrong direction
Turn off power to the unit. Use applicable lockout/tag-out procedures
Reverse any two of the unit power leads
Reapply power to the compressor
