Ensure the following precautions are taken

Replace the stationary insert and rotating seal assembly as a set

Disconnect and lock out the electrical supply

Remove the conduit box cover and disconnect the conduit and wiring

Close the suction and discharge isolation valves

Drain the system if no isolation valves are installed

Open the drain valve and wait until liquid stops flowing

Determine if motor is 5 hp or smaller

If motor is 7.5, 10, or 15 hp, follow manufacturer's nameplate instructions for lubrication

Use a lubricant suited for motor bearings

Flush and clear the piping system of dirt or debris before startup.

Bring variable-speed drivers up to rated speed as quickly as possible.

If the pumped fluid will exceed 200°F (93°C), warm up the pump by circulating a small amount of fluid until the casing temperature is within about 100°F (38°C) of the fluid temperature.

Confirm the area is clear and briefly jog the driver to verify the direction of rotation matches the arrow on the pump body.

Is the rotation clockwise when viewed from the back of the motor?

Lock out power to the driver again once rotation is confirmed.

Store the pump in a covered, dry location

Ensure the unit is free of heat, dirt, and vibration

Turn the shaft by hand several times

Repeat shaft rotation every three months while in storage
