Bell & Gossett Pump 90-11S

Replace the stationary insert and the rotating seal assembly as a set

Disconnect and lock out the electrical supply

Remove the conduit box cover and disconnect the conduit and wiring

Close the suction and discharge isolation valves

Is the system drained if no isolation valves are installed?

Open the drain valve and wait until liquid stops flowing

Store the pump in a covered, dry location.

Turn the shaft by hand several times.

Record the number of times the shaft was turned by hand.

Repeat shaft rotation at least once every three months while the unit remains in storage.

Control capacity only with the discharge-side regulating valve

Operate the pump at or near rated conditions

Confirm that an idle pump exposed to freezing conditions has been fully drained of liquid

Flush and clear the piping system of dirt or debris before startup.

Bring variable-speed drivers up to rated speed as quickly as possible.

If the pumped fluid will exceed 200°F (93°C), was the pump warmed up by circulating a small amount of fluid until the casing temperature is within about 100°F (38°C) of the fluid temperature?

Is the area clear before jogging the driver?

Does the direction of rotation match the arrow on the pump body?

Lock out power to the driver again once rotation is confirmed.

Check motor size and lubrication requirements

Use lubricant suited for motor bearings

Record manufacturer's nameplate instructions for lubrication
