Maintenance Schedule — E1.2 Maintenance

Select the maintenance frequency based on environment

Set the circuit-breaker to the open position and ensure springs are discharged

Select the type of circuit-breaker and perform necessary actions

Inspections and General Cleaning

Ensure the circuit-breaker is clean

Remove dust and oily substances with a clean, dry cloth

Check presence of rating plates with technical specifications

Putting into service — Introduction

Acknowledge the necessity of the general check when the circuit-breaker is put into service for the first time or after prolonged inactivity

WARNING — RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK! Ensure all switchgear apparatus is de-energized before testing the circuit-breaker

IMPORTANT: Ensure verifications are performed by skilled persons in the electrical field

Ensure sufficient change of air to avoid overtemperatures

Verify location is clean and free of installation refuse (e.g., cables, tools, metal splinters)

Check that the circuit-breaker is mounted correctly (tightening torques, clearances respected)

Power the gearmotor to charge the springs at the relevant rated voltage

Perform closing and opening operations

Power the undervoltage coil and perform closing operation on circuit-breaker

Turn off voltage supply to trip unit and check circuit-breaker opens

Power the undervoltage coil again and perform closing operation on circuit-breaker

Set the circuit-breaker to the open position and ensure the springs of the operating mechanism are discharged

Work with the circuit-breaker removed from the fixed part

Disconnect the power circuit and auxiliary circuits and earth the terminals visibly on both the supply side and load side

Clean and Lubricate Jaw-Type Isolating Contacts

Disassemble safety shutters (only IEC) before cleaning and lubricating

Clean the jaw-type isolating contacts using a laminate thinner such as Chemma 18 if there is a heavy coating of dirt

Lubricate the jaw-type isolating contacts with Mobilgrease 28 at the indicated points

Check that the interlocking devices are installed and operate correctly

Ensure interlocks are not tested in the Test or Disconnected positions

Describe any issues found during the interlock check
