Ensure packing is slightly loose without causing an air leak

Gradually tighten the gland bolts evenly as the pump runs

Is the gland drawn too tightly, preventing leakage?

Can the rotating element be turned by hand?

Measure drippage from the stuffing box (drops per minute)

Is the stuffing box running lukewarm with a slow drip of sealing liquid?

WARNING: Electrical Shock Hazard. Electrical connections to be made by a qualified electrician.

Disconnect and lockout power supply

Has a qualified electrician been consulted for electrical connections?

Inspect bearings for wear and replace if necessary

Check if the pump has been in a flooded condition and replace bearings and grease if needed

Evaluate the motor by a qualified motor shop before putting it back into service

Record the operating hours of the pump

Has the pump been in operation for the predetermined period?

Inspect the pump for any visible signs of wear or damage

Check the following components for proper function and condition

Measure and record the pump's discharge pressure

Is the discharge pressure within the normal range?

Ensure the pump has been stored in a clean, dry place prior to its first operation.

Are the bearings operating properly after the pump has been started for an hour?

Clean out the bearing housing if the bearing brackets are removed for maintenance.

Ensure the bearing housing is protected against dust and contaminants.

Reassemble the pump using new bearings and lip seals.

Use grease fittings to fill the bearing cavities.
