Match mark parts for ease in reassembly

Turn off electrical supply of the motor and all controls

Shut suction line and discharge line gate valves

Remove drain plug from casing and drain unit

Remove rubber insert from coupling after sliding coupling halves up their respective shafts

Remove the four capscrews in the powerframe feet

Loosen coupling set screws and slide coupling halves apart

Adjusting the Jackscrews and Capscrews

Loosen the 3 nuts on the jackscrews until they are against the jackscrew heads, then unscrew the jackscrews several turns

Evenly tighten 3 capscrews until the shaft can no longer be turned by hand

Loosen the capscrews a couple of turns

Turn the jackscrews until they touch the powerframe

Carefully alternate tightening the jackscrews approximately 1/4-1/2 turn or until the shaft can be turned freely by hand

On Model 1424, is there an even spacing maintained between the bearing cap and the powerframe?

Bearing and Packing Inspection and Lubrication

Inspect and grease the following components

Was lithium base grease with corrosion inhibiting properties used?

Describe the motor lubrication process followed as per manufacturer's recommendations

Are all components properly lubricated?

Follow liquid end inspection directions

Remove the four capscrews holding the packing box or seal head, and case adaptor to the powerframe

Remove packing box or seal head

Check condition of shaft and packing

Remove three capscrews and jackscrews from bearing cap

Drive the shaft and bearing car assembly from the powerframe using a rubber mallet

Check for damage to the threads on the end of the shaft

Secure impeller with washer and nut

Install gasket (54) on case adaptor (56)

Slide powerframe assembly into casing (51)

Note any issues with powerframe insertion
