Inspect the barricade structure for any signs of failure

Tighten any loose hardware completely

Actuator Arm and Tripping Structure

Does the actuator arm contact the tripping structure?

Describe any issues with the actuator arm or tripping structure

Is there any soil build-up in the wheel track?

Remove any build-up of soil in the barricade area

Inspect all electrical conductors for wear or cracks in insulation.

Inspect all grounding conductors for wear or cracks in insulation.

Have any broken conduit or electrical wire been identified?

Contact local Valley dealer for repair or replacement of identified issues.

Ensure the ground wire is securely attached to the ground rod.

Ensure the ground wire is securely attached to the ground lug on the pivot.

Ensure the equipment is turned off and secured

Gather necessary tools and materials, including water resistant lithium based grease

Count the number of revolutions since last lubrication

Has the pivot swivel completed 5 to 7 revolutions since last lubrication?

Locate the grease fittings on the side of the pivot near the pivot swivel

Apply water resistant lithium based grease to the grease fittings

Adjust nuts #1 and #2 as needed

Re-tighten the jam nuts after adjustment

Allow the tower to cycle twice to determine alignment

Adjust nuts #1 and #2 until the tower is in alignment

Continue alignment down the entire length of the machine

Set alignment cable tension using truss spreader

Helical Gearmotor Gearbox Maintenance

Remove the drain plug and the fill plug. Drain the oil and install the drain plug.

Did you use Valley Gear Lube for refilling?

Fill the gearbox 1-7/8 in (48 mm) from the bottom of fill plug hole with Valley Gear Lube. Enter the amount used (in oz or liters).

Is the oil level 1-7/8 in (48 mm) below fill plug when full?

Use the special dipstick to check oil level.

Worm Gearmotor Gearbox Maintenance

Remove the drain plug and the fill plug. Drain the oil and install the drain plug.
