Fan Belt Adjustment
WARNING: Rotating Components! Disconnect all electric power, including remote disconnects before servicing.
Power disconnected and lockout/tagout procedures followed
Belts appear frayed or worn
If belts are frayed or worn, replacement is necessary
Belts loosened using the belt tension adjustment bolts on the motor mounting base
Enter the center-to-center shaft distance (in inches) between the fan and motor sheaves
Enter the amount of belt deflection that corresponds to the proper belt tension
Large O-ring on the belt tension gauge set at the deflection value
Small O-ring set at zero on the force scale of the gauge plunger
1 Monthly Odyssey™ Split Systems Inspection
The following warning complies with State of California law, Proposition 65.
WARNING
Hazardous Voltage w/Capacitors!
Failure to disconnect power and discharge capacitors before servicing could result in death or serious injury.
Disconnect all electric power, including remote disconnects and discharge all motor start/run capacitors before servicing. Follow proper lockout/tagout procedures to ensure the power cannot be inadvertently energized. For variable frequency drives or other energy storing components provided by Trane or others, refer to the appropriate manufacturer's literature for allowable waiting periods for discharge of capacitors.
Verify with a CAT III or IV voltmeter rated per NFPA 70E that all capacitors have discharged.
NOTICE
Operating Under Vacuum!
Failure to follow these instructions will result in compressor failure.
1 Yearly Coil Cleaning
Warning: This procedure requires trained personnel with PPE!
Before starting, ensure the unit is turned OFF and disconnected from the main power source.
Regular coil maintenance, including annual cleaning enhances the unit's operating efficiency by minimizing: compressor head pressure and amperage draw; water carryover; fan brake horsepower and static pressure losses.
At least once each year-or more often if the unit is located in a “dirty” environment-clean the evaporator and condenser coils using the instructions outlined below.
Is the unit located in a “dirty” environment?
Be sure to follow these instructions as closely as possible to avoid damaging the coils.
To clean refrigerant coils, use a soft brush and a sprayer.
