Syntron Material Handling Feeder BF-2-B

Ensure the feeder is running empty

Set the control knob at maximum feed rate (extreme clockwise position)

Is the armature and core 'striking'?

Rotate cap screw clockwise to increase air gap spacing if 'striking' is observed

Does the feeder lack power or draw excessive current at 100% control setting?

Rotate screw anticlockwise to decrease air gap spacing if feeder lacks power or draws excessive current

Disconnect the feeder from the power supply

Make a note of the location and arrangement of each component

Remove the bolts securing the leaf springs to the base

Remove the bolts holding the springs to the trough mounting bracket

Install the new spring assembly in reverse order

Replace cap screws and torque as specified in the instructions for Model “BF” Feeders

Disconnect electrical power supply at the safety disconnect switch

Material Build-up Inspection and Cleaning

Inspect for material build-up on the trough surfaces

Remove material build-up from the trough surfaces

Is there wet or sticky material build-up?

Use clean, dry compressed air for cleaning
