Trap Inspection
Preparation
Ensure the trap is properly isolated
Relieve any remaining pressure in the trap by opening the blowdown valve on the upstream strainer
Has the trap cooled down sufficiently?
Disassembly
Remove the drain plug or crack the body-cover joint to drain remaining condensate
Remove and save the cover bolts
Remove the body or cover
Cleaning and Inspection
Air Vent Testing
Air Vent Removal and Testing
Remove the air vent for testing
Test the air vent for proper operation
Replace the air vent if necessary
Gasket and Trap Reassembly
Remove all traces of the old gasket from the body and cover
Reassemble the trap using a new cover gasket
Tighten the cover bolts to the specified torque
Return Trap to Service
