Fan Cycle Control Check
Fan Motor Verification
Verify fan motor windings are not open or grounded
Check that fan spins freely
Connection Setup
Connect manifold gauges to ice machine
Hook voltmeter in parallel across the fan cycle control, leaving wires attached
Refer to chart below
Pressure Controls Replacement
Disconnect power to the ice machine
Using the pinch-off tool
Follow all manufacturer’s instructions supplied with the pinch-off tool
Position the pinch-off tool around the tubing as far from the pressure control as feasible
Clamp down on the tubing until the pinch-off is complete
Cut the tubing of the defective component with a small tubing cutter
Solder the replacement component in place
Allow the solder joint to cool
Remove the pinch-off tool
High Pressure Cutout Control Check
Cycle ice machine with the on/off button
Ice Machine starts - Run the system to see if the control trips at the rated pressure
Does the HPCO open at a pressure significantly lower or higher than 450 psig?
If yes, replace the HPCO
If the control opens at the correct pressure, find the root cause
Ice Machine Does Not Start - Continue with the next step
Leave all wiring connectors attached and perform testing within the 60 minute time delay period
Check for 24 volts at terminals V & C on the ice machine control board
Enter voltage reading at terminals V & C
Control Board Test
Disconnect thermistor from control board
Short thermistor pins
Ice Thickness Check
Inspect the bridge connecting the cubes for thickness
Is the bridge thickness approximately 1/8" (3 mm)?
Adjust the ice thickness probe adjustment screw if necessary
Place a 9/32" (7 mm) drill bit between the ice thickness probe and the evaporator for initial adjustment
Make final adjustments to achieve a 1/8" (3 mm) thick bridge
Ensure the ice thickness probe wire doesn’t restrict movement of the probe
