Disconnect the battery pack cable from the system board
Remove the screw and the 2242 solid-state drive bracket
Open the latches and remove the memory
Upper Case Removal
Ensure the following FRUs (CRUs) have been removed
Upper Case Removal Steps
Disconnect the battery pack cable
Remove six screws
Rotate the upper case to a degree less than 90°
Remove the upper case
2280 Solid-State Drive Removal
Ensure the following FRUs (or CRUs) have been removed
Battery Pack Disconnection and Screw Removal
Disconnect the battery pack cable from the system board
Remove one screw
Remove the 2280 solid-state drive by pulling it away from the slot
Fan Removal
Ensure the following FRUs (or CRUs) have been removed
Disconnect the battery pack cable and the fan cable from the system board
Remove two screws and then remove the fan
Lower Case Removal
Place the computer upside down on a flat surface
Remove screws based on model size
Pry up the latches and remove the lower case
Check that all screws are accounted for
Inspect the lower case for any damage
Store the screws safely
Ensure the computer is shut down before servicing
