• Battery cables - check the condition of the battery and alternator cables for signs of chafing or rubbing. Make sure that all clamps (straps) holding the cables are present and in good working order.
1 Monthly Vehicle Maintenance
Check the kingpin lock and plate for wear and function
Check for proper function of Front Suspension - Spring Pins
Check the general condition and the tightness of the nuts of Front Suspension - U-bolts
Check oil level of Drive Axle - Vocational (PACCAR) - Axle Assembly

Check the 'cold' fill level at the differential carrier plug for a pinion angle of less than 7 degrees, or at the axle bowl plug for a pinion angle of greater than 7 degrees in Drive Axle (Meritor City Delivery / OFF HIGHWAY) - Axle Housing
Visually inspect for damage or leaks in Drive Axle (Meritor City Delivery / OFF HIGHWAY) - Axle Housing
Check the operation of Drive Axle (Meritor City Delivery / OFF HIGHWAY) - Breather
1 Weekly Vehicle Check

Warning: This procedure requires trained personnel with PPE!
Is the axle warm?
If axle is not warm, warm it up before proceeding
Enter the current mileage of the vehicle
Choose the type of lubricant used
Drain the lubricant while warm. Flush each unit with clean flushing oil. Change the lubricant.
Was the original mineral-based lubricant drained within 3,000-5,000 miles (4,800-8,000 km)?
Was the lubricant changed within the first 5,000 miles (8,000 km) of operation after a carrier head replacement?
Enter the brand of the Eaton-approved lubricant used
