Removing and Installing Wheel Assembly (Models with E-Clip)

Machine raised with a safe lifting device and lowered onto jack stands or other stable supports

Wheels remaining on the ground blocked to prevent machine movement

Cap from the end of the axle hub removed

Wheel assembly taken to an authorized service dealer for repairs

Park machine safely on level surface.

Put drain pan under drain valve.

Remove drain cap and drain oil into drain pan. Allow oil to drain completely.

Wipe dirt from around oil filter.

Place a drain pan or funnel under oil filter tray.

Park machine safely. (See Parking Safely in the SAFETY section.)

Raise mower deck to highest position to access blades.

Measure distance (A) between blade tip and flat ground surface.

Rotate blade 180° and measure distance between other blade tip and flat ground surface.

Install new blade if the difference between the two measurements is more than 3 mm (1/8 in.).

Cleaned vehicle painted metal surfaces using high-quality automotive wax

Repairing Minor Scratches (surface scratch)

Cleaned area to be repaired thoroughly

Used automotive polishing compound to remove surface scratches

Repairing Deep Scratches (bare metal or primer showing)

Cleaned area to be repaired with rubbing alcohol or mineral spirits

Used paint stick with factory-matched colors to fill scratches

Check if yellow indicator (A) is aligned with proper mark for mower deck model installed

If not, adjust lift assist spring so indicator is aligned with correct mower deck mark

Turn adjusting bolt (B) at front of machine frame to adjust lift assist spring

Sign off on the lift assist spring maintenance
